1. Introduction and Acceptance

These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of paklegaldesk.com and any related services, tools, applications, and features (collectively, the “Platform”) operated by Pak Legal Desk (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.

These Terms apply alongside our Privacy Policy, Legal Disclaimer, Cookie Policy, and any additional policies referenced in Section 22. Where those documents conflict with these Terms, the more specific document prevails on the subject it addresses.

2. Eligibility

2.1 You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account or use the Platform.

2.2 You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract under the laws of your jurisdiction.

2.3 If you use the Platform on behalf of a company, partnership, or other legal entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.

2.4 You must not be barred from using the Platform under any applicable law or by a prior suspension or termination by us.

2.5 You are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Platform complies with all laws applicable to you.

3. Account Registration

3.1 To access most features of the Platform, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update it as needed.

3.2 You must select:

• An account type (client or lawyer)

• Your jurisdiction (the country or region whose laws are most relevant to your use of the Platform)

3.3 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

3.4 You must notify us immediately at legal@paklegaldesk.com if you believe your account has been accessed without your authorisation.

3.5 We may reject, suspend, or terminate an account at any time in accordance with Section 16.

3.6 Account approval process. New accounts may pass through several stages including payment verification, administrative review, and email verification before becoming active. We are not obliged to activate any account and may reject an application without giving reasons, subject to applicable law.

4. Account Types

4.1 Client accounts. Client accounts are for individuals or businesses seeking legal information, document tools, AI-assisted analysis, or marketplace services from independent legal professionals.

4.2 Lawyer accounts. Lawyer accounts are for licensed legal professionals who wish to offer services through the Platform. Lawyer accounts are subject to additional verification, which may include:

• Bar or license number

• Jurisdiction of practice

• Practice areas

• Professional credential documents

We may suspend or de-verify a lawyer account at any time if the information provided is inaccurate, incomplete, expired, or unverifiable.

4.3 Additional obligations specific to lawyer accounts are set out in our Lawyer / Professional Terms.

4.4 The Platform currently supports two account types: client and lawyer. Business users register as clients. Additional account types may be introduced in future versions.

5. Jurisdiction Selection

5.1 When you register or update your profile, you select a jurisdiction from the options made available on the Platform. Your selection is used to:

• Route your queries to the appropriate AI agent

• Apply relevant formatting, citation, and legal framework context

• Determine which jurisdiction-specific disclosures apply

5.2 Your jurisdiction selection is a routing and compliance context, not a legal determination. It does not create a lawyer-client relationship, does not guarantee that the Platform will provide jurisdiction-specific legal advice, and does not replace consulting a qualified lawyer in that jurisdiction.

5.3 You are responsible for selecting the jurisdiction that is actually applicable to your situation. If your matter touches more than one jurisdiction, you should seek advice from a qualified lawyer in each relevant jurisdiction.

6. AI Legal Assistant and Technology-Assisted Features

6.1 The Platform provides technology-assisted legal information, including:

• AI-powered legal chat

• Legal research

• Document and contract generation

• Document intelligence (analysis, clause extraction, review)

• Voice-based interaction

6.2 Output produced by these tools is technology-assisted information, not legal advice. It is generated by AI models and automated processes and may contain errors, omissions, outdated information, or inaccuracies.

6.3 You must independently review all AI-generated output before relying on it, filing it, executing it, or acting on it. See our Legal Disclaimer.

6.4 Use of the AI features alone does not create a lawyer-client relationship between you and Pak Legal Desk or between you and any lawyer on the Platform.

6.5 Do not use the AI features for urgent matters, imminent deadlines, or situations where a wrong answer would cause harm. Court deadlines and statutory deadlines must not be ignored. Consult a qualified lawyer.

7. Legal Research

7.1 Legal research results are provided for informational purposes. They may draw on publicly available sources, third-party databases, and AI models.

7.2 We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of research results. Laws change, and research may not reflect the most recent developments.

7.3 You must verify any legal proposition before relying on it, especially before citing it in a court filing, negotiation, or professional document.

8. Document and Contract Generation

8.1 The Platform may generate drafts of legal documents and contracts based on the information you provide and the jurisdiction you select.

8.2 Generated documents are drafts only. They are starting points for review, not final executable documents.

8.3 Before executing or filing any generated document, you must have it reviewed by a qualified lawyer in the relevant jurisdiction. This is especially important for:

• Documents with significant financial value

• Documents affecting property rights

• Documents involving family or personal status matters

• Documents subject to mandatory statutory forms or registration

8.4 You are solely responsible for the final content, accuracy, and legal effect of any document you execute or file.

9. Uploaded Content

9.1 You may upload documents, files, images, voice recordings, and other content to the Platform (“Uploaded Content”).

9.2 You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights to upload the content

• The content does not infringe any third party’s intellectual property, privacy, or other rights

• The content does not contain malware or unlawful material

• You have the legal right to share the content with us and with any third-party service that processes it on our behalf

9.3 You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, transmit, and analyse your Uploaded Content solely to provide the Platform’s services to you.

9.4 We do not claim ownership of your Uploaded Content. You retain all rights you hold in it.

9.5 You are responsible for maintaining your own backups of Uploaded Content. We are not liable for loss of Uploaded Content caused by technical failure, deletion, or any event beyond our reasonable control.

10. User-Generated Content

10.1 If the Platform allows you to post, publish, or share content visible to others (for example, in a lawyer profile, a review, or a marketplace listing), you are responsible for that content.

10.2 You must not post content that is false, misleading, defamatory, obscene, harassing, discriminatory, or unlawful.

10.3 We may remove content that violates these Terms or applicable law, without notice.

10.4 You retain ownership of your user-generated content, but grant us a licence to display, reproduce, and distribute it in connection with operating the Platform.

11. Lawyer Marketplace

11.1 The Platform includes a marketplace where clients can find and engage independent legal professionals.

11.2 Lawyers on the marketplace are independent professionals. They are not employees, agents, partners, or representatives of Pak Legal Desk.

11.3 Pak Legal Desk provides marketplace technology only. We do not supervise, direct, or control the professional legal work carried out by lawyers on the Platform, and we do not guarantee the quality, outcome, or timeliness of any lawyer’s services.

11.4 Any lawyer-client relationship is formed directly between the client and the lawyer. We are not a party to that relationship.

11.5 Additional marketplace rules are set out in our Marketplace Terms.

12. Payments, Wallets, and Merchant Processing

12.1 Paid features of the Platform may be purchased using the payment methods made available on the Platform. These may include wallet balance, credit or debit card, bank transfer, or other gateways we support.

12.2 Payment processing is carried out by third-party payment processors. Your use of their services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

12.3 Wallet balances represent funds you have placed with us for use on the Platform. Wallet balances may be subject to limits, fees, or expiry terms disclosed on the Platform.

12.4 You are responsible for ensuring that your payment information is accurate and that you have the authority to use the payment method you provide.

12.5 Additional rules on payments, wallets, refunds, cancellations, and chargebacks are set out in our Payment, Wallet & Refund Policy.

13. Orders, Refunds, and Cancellations

13.1 When you place an order for a lawyer service or a paid Platform feature, you enter into an agreement with the service provider (and, for Platform features, with us).

13.2 Cancellation rights, refund eligibility, and dispute procedures are set out in the Payment, Wallet & Refund Policy and the Marketplace Terms.

13.3 Where you are a consumer in a jurisdiction with statutory cancellation or refund rights, those rights apply. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit a right you cannot lawfully waive.

13.4 Where you are a consumer in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with a statutory cooling-off period for distance contracts, you may have the right to cancel within that period, subject to the exceptions those laws provide (for example, for services that have already been fully performed with your consent).

14. Subscriptions

14.1 Certain Platform features may be offered on a subscription basis.

14.2 If you subscribe, you authorise us to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis at the interval disclosed at the time of purchase.

14.3 You may cancel a subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Cancellation stops future charges. Refunds for the current subscription period are governed by the Payment, Wallet & Refund Policy.

14.4 We may change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Continued use after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

15. Intellectual Property

15.1 The Platform, including its software, design, text, graphics, logos, code, AI models, and underlying technology, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

15.2 You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works of the Platform without our prior written consent, except as permitted by applicable law.

15.3 “Pak Legal Desk” and associated logos are our trademarks. You may not use them without our written permission.

15.4 Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our intellectual property to you.

15.5 Additional rights and obligations concerning copyright are set out in our Intellectual Property & Copyright Policy.

16. Prohibited Conduct

You must not:

16.1 Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.

16.2 Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your identity, credentials, or affiliation.

16.3 Upload malware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt or damage the Platform or third-party systems.

16.4 Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Platform, other users’ accounts, or our systems.

16.5 Use automated tools to scrape, harvest, or extract data from the Platform without our written permission.

16.6 Harass, abuse, threaten, or defame other users or Platform staff.

16.7 Post or transmit content that is obscene, discriminatory, hateful, or violates any person’s rights.

16.8 Use the Platform to facilitate fraud, money laundering, or any criminal offence.

16.9 Offer legal services through the Platform if you are not properly licensed to do so in the relevant jurisdiction.

16.10 Interfere with the normal operation of the Platform, including its security, integrity, and availability.

16.11 Circumvent any fees, payment obligations, or access restrictions.

17. Fraud, Abuse, and Security

17.1 We monitor the Platform for fraud, abuse, and security threats. This may include automated and manual review of activity, transaction patterns, and uploaded content.

17.2 We may suspend an account immediately if we reasonably suspect fraud, abuse, or a security threat.

17.3 You must cooperate with any reasonable investigation we conduct into suspected fraud, abuse, or a security incident involving your account.

17.4 Any attempt to defraud the Platform or other users will result in termination of your account and may be reported to law enforcement.

18. Account Suspension and Termination

18.1 We may suspend or terminate your account, in whole or in part, if:

• You breach these Terms or any incorporated policy

• You breach applicable law

• We reasonably believe your account poses a risk to the Platform or other users

• We are required to do so by law or a competent authority

• Your account has been inactive for an extended period and we have given reasonable notice

18.2 You may close your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.

18.3 On termination:

• Your right to access the Platform ends

• We may retain information as required by Section 7 of the Privacy Policy

• Any accrued payment obligations remain payable

• Any surviving provisions of these Terms continue to apply

19. Limitation of Liability

19.1 To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for:

• Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages

• Loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunity

• Damage caused by reliance on AI-generated output

• Damage caused by the acts or omissions of an independent lawyer on the marketplace

• Damage caused by third-party services (including AI, hosting, payment, or analytics providers)

19.2 Where we are found liable, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to your use of the Platform is limited to the greater of:

  • The total fees you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or

  • PKR 100,000

19.3 Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

19.4 This Section does not affect any statutory rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived.

20. Indemnity

20.1 You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Pak Legal Desk, its directors, officers, employees, and agents against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of:

• Your breach of these Terms

• Your violation of any law or third-party right

• Content you upload or publish on the Platform

• Your use of AI-generated output in a manner that causes harm

• Any dispute between you and another user, including between a client and a lawyer

20.2 This indemnity does not apply to claims caused by our own negligence or wilful misconduct.

21. Third-Party Services and Links

21.1 The Platform integrates with and links to third-party services (including AI models, payment processors, hosting providers, and analytics). These are governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

21.2 We do not control and are not responsible for the content, availability, security, or practices of third-party services.

21.3 Links to third-party websites do not imply endorsement.

Where any incorporated policy conflicts with these Terms, the incorporated policy prevails on its specific subject matter.

23. Force Majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, war, civil unrest, government action, internet or utility failures, or failures of third-party service providers.

24. Amendments

24.1 We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version.

24.2 Material changes will be notified through the Platform or by email where appropriate. Continued use of the Platform after an amendment takes effect constitutes acceptance.

24.3 If you do not agree to the amended Terms, you must stop using the Platform.

25. Governing Law

25.1 These Terms are governed by the laws of Pakistan, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your jurisdiction of residence provide otherwise.

25.2 The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.

25.3 Where you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA, the UK, Canada, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protections, nothing in this Section deprives you of the protection of the mandatory laws of your country of residence.

26. Dispute Resolution

26.1 If a dispute arises, you agree to first contact us at complaint@paklegaldesk.com and attempt to resolve the matter informally for at least 30 days before pursuing formal proceedings.

26.2 Subject to Section 26.1, disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Karachi, PAKISTAN .

26.3 Where the law of your jurisdiction of residence grants you the right to bring proceedings in your local courts, that right is not affected by Section 26.2.

27. General

27.1 Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the incorporated policies, constitute the entire agreement between you and us concerning the Platform.

27.2 Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

27.3 No waiver. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

27.4 Assignment. You may not assign your rights under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign our rights to an affiliate or successor.

27.5 No partnership. Nothing in these Terms creates a partnership, joint venture, employment, or agency relationship between you and us.

27.6 Notices. Notices to you may be given through the Platform or by email. Notices to us must be sent to info@paklegaldesk.com
